Milanese artist that works and lives in Berlin, Patrick Tuttofuoco discusses urban utopias, collaboration and what it is to be human. He's interested in the individual contained within the boundaries of the concept of community and social interaction: " the world is a bizarre and stratified formation", he said.

GIVENCHY S/S 2011 HAUTE COUTURE
Last thursday, Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci held a private presentation at the Hotel Evreux on Place Vendôme, which felt like the best (and most traditional) way to admire the intricacy of couture pieces. The collection is influenced by Japanese history, and more precisely by the work of Kazuo Ohno, a traditional Butoh dancer. The silhouettes interweave both male and female influences, such as large frontal knots alongside geometrical necks and sharp patterns, poking both at women’s kimonos and costumes Gundam fighters.
Traditional techniques such as hand sewn crane birds are place alongside geometrical 3D embroidery; organza dresses intermingle with angular sequin appliqués. A similar balance operates in the duality of the colours: eye-grabbing boleros cuts, often reduced to dominant shoulder pads, are made of luminescent orange and pink sequins, arranged to resemble fish scales – these are contrasted with limes, white-pinks and citrus tones on silk, chiffon and organza.

JEZ TOZER presents "The Raven"

"The Raven" directed by Jez Tozer personifies the changed way we view the fashion industry's creative process. The woman's gesture in the video seems to me like a natural and daily one, after waking up in the morning, not finding things to wear, 'cause she already knows where they are. If it gives me something of divine? Sure! But it also smells like the decade of the industrial fashion world.
Jez Tozer found out the virtues of film in a digital world and he achieved it thanks to his studio, the SHOWstudio.com :

DΛVID KOMΛ

David Koma: Georgian born fashion designer, graduated in 2009 at Central Saint Martins (London).

This collection revealed David's signature style based on strong shapes and powerful sexuality which he continues to explore.
The stockist : Brown Focus London

New talent : William Richard Green

Literally making a splash at the Menswear Day during London Fashion Week this season, was rising designer William Richard Green’s darkly nautical installation in the sheds out back at Somerset House.  Following the industrial wasteland punks of his Fall collection, SS11 saw Green diving for inspiration in the murky depths of the ocean.

BIO: Born in 1985 in the countryside of Worcestershire, Greens work reflects a certain boyish approach to life, moulded by a free-spirited nature instilled early in his genes. Having trained on Savile Row under Henry Poole as well as the classic furrier, Hockley, Green set out to re-sculpt the conformist token elements of modern menswear. In 2009, he earned a degree from Central Saint Martins, receiving international acclaim for his high-end mens casualwear, or what Green dubbed a collection of wearable manly menswear.
